Arthur Kroeber

Editor, China Economic Quarterly
Arthur R. Kroeber is head of research at Gavekal, a financial-services firm based in Hong Kong, founder of the China-focused Gavekal Dragonomics research service,
and editor of China Economic Quarterly. He divides his time between Beijing and New York. Before founding Dragonomics in 2002, he spent fifteen years as a financial
and economic journalist in China and South Asia. He is a senior non-resident fellow of the Brookings-Tsinghua Center, an adjunct professor at the Columbia University
School of International and Public Affairs, and a member of the National Committee on US-China Relations. His book China? Economy: What Everyone Needs to Know
is published by Oxford University Press in April 2016.
Dr Cheng Li

Cheng Li is director of the John L. Thornton China Center and a senior fellow in the Foreign Policy program at Brookings. He is also a director of the National Committee on U.S.
China Relations. Le focusses on the transformation of political leaders, generational change and technological development in China.
Li grew up in Shanghai during the Cultural Revolution. In 1985 he came to the United States, where he received a master's in Asian studies from the University of
California, Berkeley and a Doctorate in Political Science from Princeton University. From 1993 to 1995, he worked in China as a fellow sponsored by the
Institute of Current World Affairs in the U.S, observing grassroots changes in his native country. Based on this experience, he published a nationally acclaimed book
"Rediscovery China; Dynamics and Dilemmas of Reform" (1997)

Patrick Dai joined from UBS as Head of China Clean Energy Research covering clean energy stocks in Hong Kong and China. Patrick is also the Head of A-share research
and General Manager of Macquarie Shanghai WFOE, initiating and supporting the development of MSG in China. In 2007, Patrick started his sell-side research career, and
has since worked at Morgan Stanley and UBS covering water utilities, metal & mining, and industrial stocks. Prior to joining the investment banking industry, Patrick had
10 years of corporate experience working as CFO/CEO and senior executive with multinational companies in the retail, media, chemical and logistics industries. He holds
a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the Shanghai International Studies University and the ACCA qualification.
Dexter Hsu

Dexter joined Macquarie Research in June 2013 as a senior analyst. His primary coverage includes China banks, China brokers and Taiwan financials. From 2013 to 2016,
he also served as the Advisor to the Premier of the Executive Yuan in Taiwan. Prior to that, he used to work as the Assistant to the Chairman at King's Town Bank and
research analyst at J.P.Morgan and CLSA. He started his career in equity research since 2002. He graduated from National Taiwan University with a B.A. degree in Industrial
Management with a minor in Mathematics.
John G Williams

From January 2010 until the end of December 2015 John was the Group Head of Commodity Research at Anglo American plc, the group Executive responsible for
generating the perspective on each of the commodities in the Group portfolio, with his team of 6. Under his leadership the team developed distinctive data-driven
outlooks across 10 commodities that were then applied in all Group valuation and appraisal analyses. The team also evaluated in detail a number of commodities
outside the immediate portfolio. Prior to that John was GM Corporate Finance for Anglo American in the Johannesburg Regional Office for approximately 9 years, having
joined the group in 2001. John ran the team of 9 professional staff and his activities focused on: strategy development for the Business Units and the Group; detailed
strategic analysis of commodity sectors, with particular focus on commodity economics and price development; evaluation and execution of transactions; and review of
major capital projects.
John has been a director of numerous companies for Anglo American including: a number of substantive companies in the group holding structure in South Africa;
listed subsidiaries including Anglo American Platinum, Tongaat Hulett, and Hulamin; and unlisted entities such as Boart Longyear, and Johnson Matthey Fuel Cells Joint Venture.
Prior to Anglo American, John was a consultant with McKinsey & Co for over 6 years, in London and Johannesburg. And before that, he started his career at a
technology start ?p in Cambridge UK, developing hi-tech bio pharmaceutical manufacturing systems, before completing his MBA and joining McKinsey.
Since the start of 2016 John has been consulting independently, through his consulting entity Commodity Quotient.

Analysis manager for Rio Tinto in Shanghai and Perth. Ian previously worked for Macquarie in Shanghai in 2005, and had early stints at SBB and CRU
