We are pleased to invite you to attend our Agri and Food Week event on 20-23 January 2019 at our office in Jakarta. The theme of the event is about food security and how Indonesia, especially Indonesian companies, can play a bigger role to supply ASEAN as well as the broader Asian market with the country痴 soft commodity products.
One estimate suggests that Asia needs about US$800bn of new money to produce more food to feed the growing population as food spending is expected to grow by more than US$8trn annually by 2030. To make matters worse, rising temperatures triggered by high carbon emissions has impacting the normal weather cycle and created unfavorable conditions for farmers/companies in terms of their efforts to maximize yields/production.
Indonesia, as the largest country in ASEAN, and the world痴 biggest producer of palm oil as well as major producers of other soft commodities such as rice, sugar, rubber, corn, chocolate and coffee, is at the forefront of the push to increase yields/production to feed growing demand both domestically and abroad.
At Macquarie Indonesia, we feel that there is a need to understand the challenges and risks so investors and corporates can navigate their way in the sector. We are thus hosting multiple meetings with corporates and key government officials at our event.
The event will start each day with Lunch session and Investors can attend the one-on-one/group meetings with three corporates each day from 2PM to 5PM.
We do hope you can attend our conference but the most important thing is, we certainly hope you gain a wealth of insight from our event.
