MALAYSIA MACRO AND POLICY DAY
Date: Thursday 29 August 2019
Location: EQ Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Plaza Equatorial, Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur
Macquarie invites you to our upcoming Macquarie Malaysia Macro and Policy Day featuring key representations from the government, corporate and investment community on the market-impacting economic and policy challenges, as well as opportunities, currently confronting the country. This is being held in conjunction with our ASEAN Conference on 26-28 Aug 2019 in Singapore.
Amid a flurry of negative press on Malaysia, our constructive report Malaysia Strategy - The road to "KLCI 1,850" is paved with good policies stood out and generated interest among investors. The central thesis of the report revolves around definitive policy clarity positively impacting GLCs ·collectively accounting for 32% of market capitalisation ·and political certainty re pending Prime Ministerial transition as well as return of fiscal stimulus to rekindle investor interest and potentially catalyse the market to return to the 12-month high of 1,850, with a blue-sky scenario of 1,900. One year on from forming the new government, we think it is timely to discuss and hear feedback as well as ideas from important stakeholders on the Pakatan Harapan government? economic policies and their impact on the market, corporate Malaysia and the rakyat.
